Here Comes 2025

Well, it's a little after ten o'clock, Joe and I are watching The Gay Divorcee, and oh my goodness the skies are thundering and pouring down rain. Okay, not right at this moment, but gee whiz, it was weird for awhile. At first we thought that folks were setting off firecrackers, but then a deluge occurred, and we realized that it was thunder! There have been a couple more short storms, but at least we... Read more →

I Went to the Mall

Yes, friends, I went to mall today. And when I say "mall," I mean the King of Prussia Mall, the largest mall in America. On the Sunday before Christmas. It was packed, of course. But I revved up my Christmas spirit and took to the stores to finish up this year's shopping. I first went to Macy's, where I found just the right stuff. Tony rang me up. He was cheerful and helpful and friendly... Read more →

Joe Says "Write About Hockey"

Well, okay Joe! If you've been reading this for any length of time, you know that I am a hockey fan and my team is the Washington Capitals. When we decided to move to the Philadelphia region, I had to call our Account Rep at the Caps and tell her that we were not renewing our season tickets. She tried - briefly - to get us to change our minds, but ultimately she understood. Then... Read more →

Baklava

I got a notification day before yesterday that I had a package waiting for me in the Amazon hub. (Yeah, my apartment complex is cool like that.) Okay, but I wasn't expecting a package just then - everything I'd ordered had been delivered. So I went down to retrieve it, wondering what it could be and who could have sent it. I had a bit of trouble getting the package out of the slot, but... Read more →

Zoom Clowns

Last night I attended another Zoom gathering of Clown College graduates, most of whom were from my Class of '75 and one from the Class of '74. We spent an hour and a half yakking about our lives and telling big lies and cracking bad jokes. It was so fun! The first few times we got together we mostly exchanged stories of Clown College and circus life. All of the guys spent at least a... Read more →

Itchy

This is fixing to be an itchy week. It's a four-day week for me. My holiday vacation starts Friday and goes through next week, and I'm itching for it to get here. I still have a bit of shopping to do - some silly gifts for my sister, brother, and their spouses, and some stocking stuffers for my boys. I'll probably head for the mall on Friday. We'll head for SonnyeBoy's place on Christmas Eve.... Read more →

Saturday 9: I Wouldn't Trade Christmas

Okay! This week's Saturday 9 features a tune by Frank Sinatra and his childrea, Nancy, Frank Jr., and Tina. Fun Fact: My pop always called Frank Sinatra "Frank Not-So-Hotra." Unfamiliar with this week's tune? Hear it here. 1) In addition to Christmas, this song name-checks many major holidays, including Mother's and Father's Day, Thanksgiving, Halloween and Valentine's Day. Which holiday is your favorite? Christmas! It always has been. 2) The Sinatra family posed in all-white... Read more →

Randomness

Well, I just went to google something that I thought might be fun to write about, but then Google asked me if I wanted to set up a passkey using Touch ID, and I thought that might be a pretty good idea, so I did that and it only took a minute, and now I can't remember what I wanted to search for. So it goes. In reading over the previous run-on sentence, I wondered... Read more →
