Joe Says "Write About Hockey"
Merry Christmas to All!

I Went to the Mall

Yes, friends, I went to mall today. And when I say "mall," I mean the King of Prussia Mall, the largest mall in America. On the Sunday before Christmas.

It was packed, of course. But I revved up my Christmas spirit and took to the stores to finish up this year's shopping.

I first went to Macy's, where I found just the right stuff. Tony rang me up. He was cheerful and helpful and friendly and simply a lovely man. Happy Holidays!

Then I walked through the fancypants wing (Tiffany! Cartier! Van Cleef and Arpels!) to get to Kiehl's to replenish my eye goo and face cream. The sales associate was great here, too. Merry Christmas!

Two doors down from Kiehl's was a See's Candy store, which I had to go in. It's the law. I took my purchase to the register and stood behind a woman and her mom. The woman was having trouble remembering what sorts of candy were in the various boxes - creams vs chocolates vs crunchy vs milk dark white... oh, and lollipops. The clerk was very patient and nice, but the mom, who was sucking on a chocolate lollipop, was making wisecracks toward me. I cracked wise right back and we had a couple good laughs. Then it was my turn and the clerk said "Thanks for your patience" and I said "Hey, it's fine!" and he gave me a couple Mint Crispies as a reward. Christmas spirit is its own reward, but the Mint Crispies made it even sweeter. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

On my walk back to the Macy's side, I stopped at the charity gift wrapping table and bought some gift bags from a very pleasant fella. I made him smile when I added a nice tip to the total. Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas and thank you very much!

Back to the car and home again, home again, jiggety jig.

Tomorrow? Wrapping day. And a pie? Perhaps.
