At Last - A New Pen

So I fell into the world of fountain pen collecting during the pandemic and now have about 40. I have used and enjoyed each one of them.

But!

I haven't bought a new fountain pen in about a year. I have saved a shit ton of money by not buying new pens, so that's good, especially since my tastes grew fancier with each pen.

But I am not made of stone. In early August, I got an email from Ferris Wheel Press about their latest Kickstarter campaign. They were creating a new pen called the Marquise.

Ferris Wheel Press is a fun company. I've gotten several things from them - pens, a cool notebook and cover, an inkwell, even some cute pins. Everything is well made. Plus, I enjoy supporting small, independent businesses.

Well, you can guess the rest of the story. I pledged. I paid. I received my new pen and a set of five nibs the day before Thanksgiving.

This picture doesn't really do it justice. It's aluminum, it's faceted, it's a beautiful color - Pearl Drop Blue.

I love it. I haven't inked it up yet, but I will just as soon as my current pen-in-use runs out of ink. Happily, it's almost out.

I also got a set of nibs! They range from extra-fine to double-broad, so that'll be fun to explore.

Thanks, Ferris Wheel Press, for my 41st fountain pen!
