Alice in Book Nook Land

So my latest hobby is building book nooks. If you don't what those are, go follow that link and come on back.

I finished my latest creation this evening. It's a really nice Alice in Wonderland theme, with Alice down the rabbit hole and everything there all cattywampus. Very nice, and very persnickety to build, with lots of wee pieces and pasting and layering and so on.

This particular brand is usually fairly easy to put together, but this one did a number on my fingertips. The pieces were very tight, so I had to push them and waggle them and even sand them to get them to fit properly.

There was also cussing. And I missed a couple pieces, necessitating delicate operations to get them situated. After particularly colorful outburst, Joe said, "Isn't that supposed to be fun?" And I shot back "IT IS!" because it was, even if I did have to use a wee hammer to get the walls to work.

But it's done! And it's really cute, just like the picture on the box! Or close enough, anyway.
