More Book Nooks
January 16, 2024
I’ve finished two more! This brings the total to ten - seven by Rolife, two by Tonecheer, and one by Know Me. Am I done? Oh hell no. I think I've posted a few of them on the Facebook and I wrote a blog post about the first one.
Anyway, here are the latest book nooks. I like them a lot! Both of these, like many of the others, have mirrors in the back. They're slanted, which make for lovely reflections and illusions. The lighting in these two is controlled by a motion sensor (the round moon-like object at the top). When you walk past, the lights turn on. (This is handy at night when you need just a bit of light to get to kitchen to shut up feed the cat.)
This one - clearly based on the movie Up but called Travel with the Wind - was fun to put together. I did have one tiny cloud left over, dammit. But I managed to wiggle into its space using some tweezers, a can-do attitude, and curse words.
This one is called Island of Love. It has coffee, cake, and cats - what’s not to love? This one was also a lot of fun to put together; probably the easiest. Once again, I had pieces left over - a potted plant and a leafy vine. Alas, no amount of tweezering, attitude, and cussing would work, so I took off the right-hand wall and the roof, and popped the pieces into their spots. Done and done!
So, that's it for now. Never fear, however, I have another one on the way! My only fear is that I'll run out of room for the books the nooks are supposed to bookend. I suppose we can buy more bookcases.
