Ten Things That Happened Since I Last Wrote a Blog Post

- Recovery from Covid
Neither of us had bad symptoms; in fact, I tested negative almost immediately. Joe tested negative after a week, but he never got terribly ill. Some Delsym for the cough, ibuprophen for the body aches, NyQuil to sleep and he coped well. So we were both double-tested negative right after Christmas. Speaking of which... - Christmas
Even though we were all by ourselves, Christmas was still lovely. We gave each other great gifts and I fixed a nice steak dinner. It was very relaxing, which is nice when you've just gotten over the plague. - New Year's Eve
Since we were all nice and negative, SonnyeBoy and his Sweetie came up for New Year's Eve! We opened more presents, had a terrific NYE dinner at our favorite tavern, then watched the ball drop. Oh, and we talked nonstop - except for New Year's kisses. - A Visit from My Sister and Brother-in-Law
My sister and brother-in-law came to visit right close to my birthday. So, of course, more presents! We had a terrific dinner at our favorite tavern (yep, same one as New Year's Eve) and then watched the Caps go down to ignominious defeat to the Flyers. Still, it was great to see them! - A New Pen
Joe gave me a really sweet Kaweco AL Sport pocket fountain pen - a limited edition in Ruby! It was meant to be a birthday present, but he couldn't wait. I'm glad he didn't!
- My Birthday!
I'm now 71. How'd that happen? - Joe's Birthday!
He's now 70. Yes, I married a younger man. - Eddie Palmieri Concert
I gave Joe tickets to see Eddie Palmieri and his Latin Jazz band for his birthday. It was fabulous! The horn section (sax, trumpet, and trombone) was flawless and the beat was infectious - salsa, samba, bossa nova, and just plain jazz (except there was nothing plain about it). - Calligraphy Class
So I saw a Facebook ad for Sip & Script, which was holding beginner calligraphy classes at various brewpubs all around the area. One was quite close by, so I gave it shot! Everyone got a beginner kit with a pen, two nibs, alphabet sheets, and vellum. The instructor was very friendly and quite helpful. We also got a cute emblem to fill in - like one of those Live Laugh Love cards. I figure I'll do Die, Cry, Hate instead.
- We Booked a Trip!!!
Remember when we went to Dublin and Ireland's Ancient East in 2016? We promised ourselves that we'd go back and see the Wild Atlantic Way "next time." Well, next time is July, when we'll be going on the Wild Atlantic Music Tour with Eileen Ivers. I cannot wait!
