Another Job Well Done!
July 17, 2016
I'm a big fan of R. Crumb's Mr. Natural. I have this comic taped to my refrigerator.
I feel this way every time I tackle a job I need to do, kinda want to do, but don't really want to do.
Kind of like exercising...
But anyway! I've had "Reorganize the closet" on the list for awhile, and today was the day!
Now, we got rid of a ton of stuff when we moved. I organized the closet in the first couple of weeks. But over the last couple of years, we acquired more stuff -- not a lot, mind you, but more. And we used stuff that we kept in the closet and didn't always put it back exactly neatly. So, before the closet devolved into complete chaos, I figured I'd better take inventory and then reorganize the stuff.
And now it's done!
I didn't have to throw out much stuff. Two things, to be exact: a weird metal magazine holder that's meant to be mounted on the wall and a wooden plate rail that's missing a piece of the corner. I kept the plate rail because it was a wedding present and was handmade by a friend of my parents. But I've realized that there's really no place to put it in our new place, and I really didn't like the man who made it. So good-bye, plate rail!
I also dug out my scrapbook supplies and put them in the office. I figure I may be more likely to actually use them if they're not buried in the closet!
And then I put the puzzle back together. When I was done, I was hot and sweaty and a little achey. The closet looks good though!
Another job well done!
