Have a Seat!

We've been wanting a new couch since we moved here. The old one was too big for the space, to butt sprung to get off of easily, and just too... much. So yesterday we went to Ikea, where we decided on the Ektorp loveseat. The slipcover (Vellinge beige) is a really nice chenille-ish fabric. Best of all, it was in stock!

So we spoke to a very nice woman who helped us with the order. We allowed as how we wanted it delivered.

She asked if we wanted to pick it up from the warehouse ourselves and take it to the home delivery area, or did we want to have them pick it and deliver it? It's an extra fee.

Pick it and deliver it, please!

Did we want them to assemble it after delivery? It's an extra fee.

Yes, please.

Deliver it the first available day?

Yes, please.

Okay, delivery will be between 9:00 am and 6:00 pm tomorrow, Sunday.

Wow! Hmm, we'll have to get rid of the old couch quickly!

Oh! Did we want them to haul it away for us? Extra fee!

YES, PLEASE!

Even with all of these extras, it was still an amazing price.

At 8:00 this  morning we were drinking coffee and lounging about when the phone rang. The delivery guys were here -- an hour earlier than the start of the delivery window! O-Kay then!

Joe went to let them in; I leapt into action, moving stuff out of the way to make it as easy as possible for them to tote and haul and assemble and remove.

They came in, grabbed the old couch, and took it away.

Assembly done! It was now 8:30 am. We signed the ticket, thanked and tipped the guys, and bade them farewell. We adjusted the position. I added pillows and the throw.

Then Joe performed the usability test. It's definitely a hit! Thank you Ikea!
