Mostly Green, with Blue

Today's fact about me that you might not know: I'm green. Also blue.

Those of you who have taken the Insights Discovery workshop will know what I'm talking about. It's a "personal development" tool similar to the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator.

According to the four-color model, Green People "...focus on values and depth in relationships. They want others to be able to rely on them. They prefer democratic relations that value the individual and are personal in style, radiating a desire for understanding." On the other hand, Blue people "...are introverted and have a desire to know and understand the world around them. They prefer written communication in order to maintain clarity and precision, radiating a desire for analysis." (The quotes come from the Insights website, to give credit where credit is due.) Taken together, I'm a lovely sage green known as a "Supporter."

Wow. So I'm normally a little skeptical of these sorts of analyses (Hello, blue!), but I lean toward believing them (Hi there, green!). I have a smattering of Yellow friendliness and almost no Red drive and go-getting -- totally right.

My MBTI letters are INFJ -- when I compared the INFJ-ishness with the Green/Blue-ishness... well, it's spooky how alike they are.

By the way, I've also done the Strengths Finder deal. My strengths are Relator, Learner, Input, and Intellection. Once again, the strengths dovetail with the Insights colors and the MBTI letters.

Maybe there's something to this stuff. It's done by scientitians, after all! Or -- maybe I'm just nuts.
