Today was the first really chilly day of the fall season.
The weather prognosticators are calling for snow, sleet, and rain late tonight and all day tomorrow.
And what do I have to say to this gloomy, nasty forecast.
I say this: Bring. It. On.
I am not afraid of you anymore, Winter. Let the temperature dip into single digits. Let the wind howl and the snow fly. Another Snowmageddon? Pish tosh, I say.
Why am I so rambunctious? Why do I shake my fist at the prospect of freezing cold temps and nasty precipitation? Why this uncharacteristics defiance?
Because, my friends, our new heating and air conditioning system is up to the challenge. It will keep us roasty toasty.
And also because our brand new roof of lovely nut-brown shingles and sturdy new plywood and lovingly sealed... things... will keep us as dry as the proverbial bone.
Of course, we will be enjoying new heating system and our new roof while we eat our gourmet dinners of ramen noodles and peanut butter sandwiches, but I am not complaining. Oh no. For outside it is cold and wet, but I?
I am warm and dry.
