Ten Randomly Connected Things

1. The handrail on the Metro escalators are just a tiny bit faster than the steps. I step on the escalator, hold the handrail, and go off to my happy place. Gradually my arm gets ahead of the rest of my body; I never it until it's stretched out tight.
2. I should probably pay more attention to the handrail shenanigans and spend less time in my happy place.
3. Speaking of happy places, the rear view of Alexander Skarsgard's naked body on last Sunday's episode of True Blood was pretty impressive.
4. Georgetown Cupcake makes mighty impressive cupcakes. So good, so good, so good.
5. Also good -- the last hockey game of the season. Congratulations to the Hershey Bears, AHL Calder Cup Champions! That celebration was pure joy.
6. Speaking of hockey, Comcast SportsNet reran the third Capitals-Penguins game last night. I never get tired of watching the Caps beat the Penguins.
7. However, the game was on at the same time as So You Think You Can Dance, so I was flipping back and forth. Then I realized that this game was decided in the shootout (yay, Mike Knuble!), so I watched SYTYCD until the shootout started.
8. "Shootout" would be an excellent Scrabble word.
9. The Scrabble app for my Palm Pre makes the rail and bus commute fly by.
10. "Za," "qi," and "xi" are actual words. "Za" is slang for "pizza." "Qi" is a variant of "chi," the vital force present in all beings. "Xi" is the 14th letter of the Greek alphabet, or one of two subatomic particles in the baryon family. Now you know!
