Light 'n Drizzly
November 30, 2008
When I was in New Orleans, I sampled several different drinks, including the Dark 'n Stormy. My, but it was indeed yummy! I had a different version recently, but it was a wee bit too "bitey," if you get my drift. I rather like my cocktails to not taste too alcoholic. I know, I'm a lightweight.
Anyhow, I decided to mix up my own version of the tasty beverage. So my pal Andrea and I visited the local purveyor of fine spirits and picked up some Captain Morgan Dark Spiced Rum and some Barritt's Ginger Beer, because the Gosling's Black Seal Rum was not available.
Alas, we did not have a shot glass, so I used a measuring cup. I put some ice in a tall glass (I only have ice for you, you know), added 2 ounces of Captain, and filled the glass with ginger beer. A quick stir and I called it done!
Oh. My. Very, very tasty. Not quite a Dark 'n Stormy, but every bit the Light 'n Drizzly. In fact, after a couple of them, we realized that the Captain was, indeed, in us.
