Sort Of A Love List

Friday afternoon! The end of a long, busy week! The air is full of falling stocks and slung mud and yet -- it is a beautiful, sun-filled day. The light is warm on my shoulders and the breeze is sweet and cool.

What's not to love?

Well, okay, I got my statement from UBS yesterday and had to laugh, because otherwise I would just slit my wrists. June 2008? My "portfolio" was worth $1500 or thereabouts. September 30? $143.00. God knows what it's worth today; probably a buck and a half.

Welcome to WalMart! Good thing I look good in orange.

I am developing a warty thing on my hand, right in the middle of a baby liver spot, and I have a painful lump at the base of my skull. I think it might be some sort of bite. Ew.

But! There is still The Love:

  • I finished two big projects today and can slap my hands together in glee.
  • Hockey! The Capitals open tonight in Atlanta. Let's go, Caps!
  • One last hockey item -- the Caps home opener is TOMORROW and I will be there. I will wave to you from Section 407. Let's go, Caps!
  • Mom called me this morning with one worry, which I was easily able to dispell, and one very funny story, which we laughed over. It was nice.
  • I am making a pumpkin pie tonight, in anticipation of a little get together tomorrow afternoon. All day long, I have been chanting "pumpkin, pie crust, pie pans" because I have to stop at the store and get those items.
  • Speaking of pumpkin pie, my stats have jumped up because it is the time of year when people want to make pumpkin pie. So they search for "best pumpkin pie" and get this. And I am not lying about it either.
  • My Redskins are finally favored to win this Sunday -- of course, they're playing a winless team, but nevertheless, they are favored to win.
  • Blankets. I love cold nights, because you get to snuggle under blankets.
  • I am going to BlogHer DC on Monday; I'm looking forward to it.
  • And then I am going to the Caps-Canucks game Monday night.
  • Because -- HOCKEY!

Keep a good thought and make some pumpkin pie and have a great weekend!
