Ten Things I'm Thankful For -- Including Love
Shaken AND Stirred

Saturday Snack

I'm avoiding working on my NaNoWriMo novel. Things are about to get very ugly in it and I'm not sure how it's going to end up. Hmm.

Why not a couple of diversions instead? Since I missed posting the answers to Friday's Feast when it was actually Friday, let's make it a Saturday Snack instead.

Have you ever changed a flat tire by yourself?

Many times, but not lately. In fact, one of my proudest "So there, you prick" moments was when I changed a flat by myself. It happened when I was in college, many long years ago (okay, around 1973), and my two best running buddies and I decided to go camping at Assateague Island National Seashore. We were flying down Route 50 when one of my tires blew. I managed to keep the car under control, drove to the shoulder, and parked. My friends were thrown for a loop -- Oh, what shall we DO? -- but I just got out the jack and the spare and proceeded to change the tire.

Just as I was tightening up the lug nuts, a car full of good old boys pulled over. One of them said, "Can I help you, little lady?" (I am NOT LYING, he actually said "little lady.") And I said, "Nope, I got it, thanks." And he said, "You sure?" And I said, "Yes, I'm almost done." And he came over and said, "Bet you didn't get those lug nuts tight enough." And I said, "No, I'm sure they are." And then he actually grabbed my tire iron and tested the tightness of the lug nuts! After which he looked at me and said, "Guess you're right." And they left.

And my pals applauded.

Everyone should know how to change a tire. And remember: Lefty loosey, rightey tighty.

Do you have an "innie" or an "outie" belly button?

Innie. The only time it was an outie was when I was heavily pregnant.

Name a new paint color and describe it.

Sunset. It's a magical paint color that starts out as pale blue toward the ceiling, and then changes to brilliant sunset hues as you head toward the floor. Well, why not?

What is your favorite holiday tradition?

Opening presents on Christmas morning, dressed in jammies with hot coffee close at hand.

If you were a cookie, what kind of cookie would you be, and why?

Pecan Sandie, because I love shortbread cookies. They're perfect for dunking in coffee.

And now, how about a quiz? I like this one, because I really like this card.

You are The High Priestess

Science, Wisdom, Knowledge, Education.

The High Priestess is the card of knowledge, instinctual, supernatural, secret knowledge. She holds scrolls of arcane information that she might, or might not reveal to you. The moon crown on her head as well as the crescent by her foot indicates her willingness to illuminate what you otherwise might not see, reveal the secrets you need to know. The High Priestess is also associated with the moon however and can also indicate change or fluxuation, particularily when it comes to your moods.

Well, I'd best stop procrastinating and get going.
