Love Walks in The Park
September 14, 2006
For Love Thursday today, love of a different sort.
I was walking in Central Park in Manhattan, my first foray into that beautiful space, when I saw these two old guys helping each other walk along the path. I thought about the old Simon and Garfunkel tune, Old Friends:
"Old friends.
Winter companions,
The old men
Lost in their overcoats,
Waiting for the sunset.
The sounds of the city,
Sifting through trees,
Settle like dust
On the shoulders
Of the old friends..."
Cherish your friends. You can help each other enjoy the park someday.
