Part 1: The Birth of You
Were you a planned baby? Not at all -- my mom had just converted to Catholicism. Hi! Pregnant! At 40!
Were you the first? No, I was number four.
Were your parents married when you were born? Yes; in fact, they had been married over 19 years.
What is your birthdate? January 18, 1952.
Part 2: The Family
How would you describe your family? My immediate family is small -- just Joe and SonnyeBoy, but it's really huge when I look outside that to mom, siblings, nephews, nieces, grand-nephews and grand-nieces, and so on. Not to mention cousins...
Are your parents married? Not since death did them part -- Pop died in 1991. Before that, they were married for 57 years.
Siblings or an only child? Two sisters and two brothers, but one brother died before I was born.
What are your siblings names? Joanne (oldest), Johnny (died), Jerry, Anne (youngest).
Which parent do you get along with best? I got along fine with both of them.
What do you fight about? Whatever Mom feels like fighting about.
Do you have step parents? No.
Part 3: The Friends
Do you have more than one best friend? Yes.
What do you like to do when you are together? Depends on the friend.
Do you share the same interests? I share different interests with different friends.
Which friend can you tell anything to? I really don't have a friend like that. There are some things that only I know.
Part 4: Your Personality
How high/low is your self esteem? Above average.
Do you get depressed about things easily? What things? Some things are very depressing to me.
Are you an extrovert or an introvert? Introvert, in that I really need "alone time" to stay sane.
Are you happy? Yes.
Do you live life to the fullest? My life is as full as I want it to be.
Part 5: Appearance
Are you comfortable with the way you look? Not at the moment.
Would you change anything about your appearance if you could? My weight.
Do you have any piercings besides your ears? No. Hey, that stuff hurts!
Describe your hair? Independent.
What make-up do you wear? I quit wearing make-up in high school when I realized I could sleep 15 minutes longer if I skipped it. Unless it's a special occasion, the only thing that goes on my face is SPF 15 moisturizer.
Part 6: The Past
Were you a strange child? No, I was an annoyingly normal goody-two-shoes.
What did you use to love that you no longer do? Camping -- because I no longer love it. There's that whole annoying bug thing. And you have to cook over a fire. My idea of roughing it now is no complimentary shampoo in the hotel bathroom.
Do you have the same friends? I still get together with my high-school pals, but I have no idea where my "kid friends" are.
Was there anything in your past that was traumatizing? Well, I was 20 when I was gang raped -- that was pretty traumatizing.
Part 7: The Future
What is your dream? To retire with enough money that I can travel far and wide.
Are you scared of growing old? No -- but I'm scared of being mentally incompentent and physically incontinent.
Do you want to get married? Why, yes! Oh wait... I already did that!
Part 8: The Outdoors
Do you prefer indoors or outdoors? Depends on the weather.
What is your favorite season? The two weeks of spring in DC when the trees are popping and the azaleas are blooming.
Favorite weather? Sunny, warm, and dry.
Do you like walking in the rain? Ick.
Part 9: Food
Are you a vegetarian? I'm a theoretical vegetarian. I think it's a great idea, but hey -- is that a steak?
What is your favorite food? Peppermint stick ice cream.
What food makes you want to gag? Curry.
What is your favorite restaurant? Tastee Diner.
Part 10: Experiences
What was one of your greatest experiences? Holding my son for the first time.
Have you ever done drugs? Yes, in my sordid youth. But drugs are bad. Bad, bad, bad, bad, bad.
Have you ever thought you were going to die? Yes. See "traumatizing experience."
Can you blow a bubble? Yes -- both gum and soap.
Can you dance? Not well, but I don't care. I love to dance.
Can you do a cart wheel? No -- but I always wanted to.
Can you touch your tongue to your nose? Almost.
Can you touch your toes? Yes.
Can you whistle? Half-assedly.
Can you wiggle your ears? No, but my brother can. I hate him for it.

Did you ever want to be a doctor? No. Too much school involved.
Did you ever want to be a fire fighter? No. Too much fire involved.
Did you have a party for your last birthday? No -- but we went out to dinner.
Do you know how to drive? Yes.
Do you like Roller coasters? Love them, as long as they don't go upside down.
Do you own a bike? Yes, but I don't know where it is. I mean, I left it at the beach, but it seems to have gone AWOL from the shed.
Do you think you could handle the stuff they eat on those reality TV shows? Oh please!
Do you tie your shoes every day? Only when I wear shoes with laces, like my orange Chucks.
Does hair loss run in your family at all? No. It runs in Joe's though, which is why he shaves and polishes his noggin now.
Does your car get good gas mileage? Fair.
Does your family have family picnics? We get together a lot, but we prefer air conditioning to ants.
Has anyone ever given you flowers? Oh my yes. It's one of the reasons I fell for Joe.
Have you even been on a plane? Yes. Way too much.
Have you ever been asked out? Yes.
Have you ever asked someone out? Yes -- I went to an all-girls high school. If you wanted a date for dances, you picked up the phone.
Have you ever been to the Ocean? It's my second home.
Have you ever gone fishing? Yes, off the docks and off a boat in the bay. Never fly fishing or deep-sea fishing, though.
Have you ever painted your nails? Yes, but I prefer someone else to do it for me.
How many different places have you lived? I have always lived in the DC area, except when I was running around with circuses. I lived in my van then.
How tall are you? 5' 7".
Last song you listened to? I listened to Sho 'Nuff, by Merry Clayton, off the most excellent New Orleans roots music site, Home of the Groove.
Quick how much money do you have on you right now? On me? Nuttin'. In my purse? 'Bout 20 bucks and change.
What did you wear to bed last night? My birthday suit.
What do you fear? Snakes. And not just on planes.
What Radio Station do you listen to? In the morning, Elliot on DC101; in the evening, WAMU or WETA for All Things Considered and Marketplace. On Saturday, I listen to WPFW, because they play blues, old school soul, and funk all the livelong day.
What was the last book you read? Twelve Sharp, by Janet Evanovich. Quick, fun read -- but I wish she'd hurry up and settle on Morelli.
What was the last restaurant you ate at? McGinty's Irish Pub, in Silver Spring. New! Huge! Not bad!
What was the last thing you bought? Tall nonfat latte last night at Starbucks.
What was the last thing you had to drink? Water.
What friend have you known the longest? My younger sister.
Who was that last person you IMed? SonnyeBoy -- but it was years ago. I realize that I do not IM.
