Yesterday the National Weather Service issued a winter storm watch for the area wherein they called for three to five inches of snow, so I worked at home today. Normally I would have gone in to work, but Joe is working the late shift tonight and I had no desire to ride the bus through a screwed up rush hour and then walk home from the bus stop in the dark and the slop.
However, instead of three to five inches of snow, we got a whole lotta nothin'. Way to go, DC -- stay right above that nasty weather line!
But be that as it may, I got a lot done; in fact, I finished up a set of job aids a day early, so I can spend tomorrow producing and troubleshooting and making last-minute changes and voila and woo-hoo! Pulled another project out of my butt.
I think I got a little carried away there. Sorry about that.
I rarely work at home, because I'm very easily distracted. Today, though, I had the incentive of a hard deadline, so that helped.
(So American Idol is on right this very minute -- and what the hell is up with Nicki Minaj?? Is she real? How is that hat staying on her wig? That has to be a wig, doesn't it? I am so behind the times!)
I do enjoy working in my comfiest clothes, I must say. It's also nice to be able to make a pot of good coffee whenever I want, and to listen to classical music while I work, and to chat with Joe every now and then.
I miss my dual monitors, though. It's nice to have the app I'm documenting on one screen and the job aid I'm writing on the other.
So... comfy clothes and coffee versus dual monitors. Hmm.
