Rare Sighting

I was driving into work Friday morning, at the tale end of a rainy night turned soggy morning, when it whizzed by.

Could it be?

Isitsmart

I chased it down the road, trying to get a better picture.

Alas! It was too quick, zipping down the road as other, bigger cars cut in front of me. I thought I'd lost it, but then it got stuck behind a bus. Before I knew it, I sped by! And I thought, "Hmm. Drive sanely, or try to take a picture and wreck the car?"

I'm way too sensible.

But I kept the camera turned on, put it on the seat next to me, kept driving and waited.

And then, at the scary circle of doom on the edge of DC and Maryland, I got my chance and took it.

Smart

My first sighting of a Smart car in the wild!

I want one. Yes, I do.

Me too.

So cute!

They look like "begging to be killed by someone driving an SUV on a cell phone" cars to me.

We saw one the other day too. I wonder if it was the same one?

They're cute, but my thoughts run along the same line as Sarah's.

Don't think I'd wanna be in front of a 'semi' either! ha!

i want one, too, and i haven't owned a car since 1991. as for the SUV, ha. smart cars are LOTS safer. the drivers are LOTS smarter, too.

My husband has been wanting one of these for years. Almost went down to mexico to get one. It's not much bigger than a motorcycle.

LOL! My Santa Fe would eat that Smart car for breakfast.

It reminds me of the teeny Renault Le Car (also red) I drove in the early 1980s. This was all back-roads driving, so I didn't mind being in a very small vehicle. For highway driving, I prefer something a bit more substantial.

Holy Cow! I saw a black one in Gwangmyeong, a city just south-west of Seoul, on the same day you saw yours! Cuter'n a spotted pup, it was.

There's a bright yellow one in the parking lot outside my office window (belongs to another building so I don't know the driver). I had to look it up online. Pretty cool - but I admit to being a tad scared of being squished too.
