I have an AARP card. Yes, I'm over 50; an aging hippie with a husband whom I love and a son who's a cop. Seems odd for an old hippie, eh? Well, that's karma for you.
I graduated from college with a degree in "The-a-tah", a bad move for someone who hates New York and LA. Mime was cool then, so I went to various mime camps and got into clowning.
On a whim, I applied to the Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Circus Clown College.
On an equal whim, they accepted me.
However, I didn't get hired by Ringling Brothers, so I worked for several small circuses over the next three years.
Then I got a day job.
Which eventually turned into a career in technical communication, first in technical writing for software documentation, then in instructional design and training.
I've always been overly concerned with my weight. Over the last 51 years, I've been scrawny, chubby, curvy, fat, thin, chunky, obese, and fit.
Right now, I'm pretty fit, but I'd like to lose about 20 more pounds. But if I don't, that's okay.
All in all, life is good.
